Who we are

Buena Vista United Methodist Church is a welcoming, multi-generational community of faith open to all.

Events


We share in a variety of weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and annual events, including Bible Study, Fellowship Luncheons, and the Spring Festival Bazaar.

Sunday Worship


Our hybrid services are on Sunday mornings at 10:15.

Buena Vista Basketball

The BVUMC Youth Basketball program provides youth entering kindergarten through high school with the opportunity to play basketball in a safe, well-organized environment. The volunteer-run program emphasizes the values of teamwork, cultural awareness, and community service.

Buena Vista Basketball also traces its roots back to Japanese American history where segregated sports leagues preceded World War II. Sports were a source of sustenance in the camps.

Buena Vista Community Institute

Buena Vista Community Institute (BVCI) is the social mission arm of BVUMC and continues to work to help ensure that marginalized communities, people of color, and people of all faiths or no faith, are able to remain in, receive support, and be an active and empowered part of the Bay Area, its institutions, and the broader world.
